Most of us are inspired by the memory of childhood affections. One of my two favorite things to do as a child was to spill the contents of my mother's jewelry case out onto her bed and revel in the beauty of all the color and sparkle spread before me. Tourmalines, aquamarines, citrines, amethysts born out of the dusty earth startled and delighted me. My thoughts recalls the second, even more spectacular memory of sitting on the shallow reef edging Recife, Brazil ,where I lived. There endless reef fish shimmered with color and light. There my world was tapped by a magic wand and the sense of wonder intensified. It was as though all those gems had come to life. Today,the interplay of those two worlds, those two wonders continue to fascinate me. Welcome to Wonder.
